Documentary "A Binding Truth"
September
10-16, 2025
Sunday, September 28
For
one week, September 10-16, 2025, Pizza
& Social Justice and more than a
dozen community organizations, public
libraries and faith-based organizations,
Collective Action to Build Community
(CA2BC) will host more than a dozen
screenings of the 2024 documentary, A
Binding Truth. This award-winning
90-minute film tells the story of two
high school classmates—one black, the
other white—who find themselves bound
together by a history stretching back
more than 150 years. It is a story of
healing and shows a way forward from a
troubling past. CA2BC will also host the
two protagonists in the film, Jimmie
Kirkpatrick and De Kirkpatrick, as well
as the film's director, Louise Woehrle,
in a one-hour live interview on Sunday,
September 28.
To register for one or more of these
screenings and discussions, and the
September 28 online live interview with
the two protagonists in the film, Jimmie
and De Kirkpatrick, and Louise Woehrle,
the film’s director, visit the CA2BC
