Ridvan Celebration a success!

Hinsdale, IL

Dear Bahá'í Friends,

Thanks to all who gathered last Sunday evening at The Community House in Hinsdale for the 2nd annual Ridvan Celebration in the western suburbs of Chicagoland! The crowd was as marvelously diverse as the food, exhibiting diversity of heritage & ethnicity, and of communities represented. We enjoyed an excellent "potluck" supper, then a formal devotional program followed by a talk on the history of the Bahá'í Faith, and ended with dessert and jazz to enhance our fellowship.

Thanks also to Devon Vodden and Drs. James and Elham Keller, who read devotions; to Dr. Nesreen Akhtarkhavari for an excellent presentation on the history of the Faith; and to the Devin Foster Trio, who provided superb jazz during dinner and after the devotional program. (Devin Foster is an Oak Park Bahá'í, and the trio is available for hire.)

The organizers look forward to next Ridvan in the hopes that we can meet again to celebrate this most glorious of Bahá'í festivals!
