The Long Shadow follow-up - Continuing Conversations (Glen Ellyn)

Tuesdays from 9/4 thru 10/9 at 6:30pm

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church
393 N. Main Street
Glen Ellyn, IL

This event is the followup for the pre-release screening of the documentary, The Long Shadow, on July 24 which our group, Pizza & Social Justice, co-sponsored.  We wish to invite you for our follow-up conversations, and we are very excited to share these details for the series of discussions we are having.

Starting Tuesday, September 4th, we will meet Tuesday evenings for 6 consecutive weeks. We encourage you to join us for the entire series of conversations focused on race unity and racial justice, but you are free to participate in as many of the conversations as your schedule will permit. You may also share this invitation with family, friends or co-workers who were not able to view The Long Shadow but would like to participate in the conversations.

Each session, we will watch a short video focusing on a particular aspect of addressing racism in our society, and then we'll discuss the feelings and thoughts that come up in small groups afterward. Aside from the content of the conversations, we have found this an effective way to foster meaningful relationships that the participants can carry forward in our lives. And of course, because we are “Pizza & Social Justice”, there will be pizza!

Here are the session details.  Please RSVP if you plan to attend so that we can arrange for appropriate materials and pizza for the evening.  You can RSVP by phone, email or Eventbrite sign up.  We look forward to continuing the conversation!
